Aggression & reactivity
Koda: aggressive toward strangers and other dogs, handed back in a crowded store

“Our dog Koda was aggressive and reactive to strangers and other dogs. We had him boarded for 3 weeks and trusted Cody to make him a less reactive more confident dog and he did exactly that! We did our hand-over process in rural king surrounded by people and dogs and did not have one negative encounter. If you're looking for a dog training in Clarksville, Tennessee this is the place!”

Reactivity
Zeus the Siberian Husky: loving at home, reactive in public
Zeus is affectionate but became reactive in specific situations. Trainers Cody and Jesse worked at his pace to build trust, kept his owners updated throughout, and sent him home with the family trained in how to maintain the work themselves.

“Zeus is a very loving dog, but he can also be challenging and reactive in certain situations. Cody and his team took the time to understand him, earn his trust, and work with him at his own pace. They kept us updated throughout his training and put a lot of time and effort into helping him improve. Today we brought Zeus back home, and we are very thankful for the progress he has made and for everything they taught us so that we can continue reinforcing his training at home.”

“Our 1 1/2 year old, 80 pound Pyredoodle came home from training a different dog. 3 weeks seemed like a long time but it was so worth it. We can walk him with or without a leash, he listens, no more jumping up on everyone and no more begging for food. He's the same goofy, loving dog he was before but with manners.”

Rescue & anxiety
Leo: a rescue whose anxiety was generating neighbour noise complaints

“Being a rescue, he wasn't able to maintain time in the crate without barking and crying and feeling scared. He dealt with crazy anxiety in public and at home to the point he was so hard to be around, we had multiple noise complaints from neighbors. Heather spent time with him performing confidence training and behavioral therapy. When he came back, he has been so enjoyable to be around. He loves his crate and loves to go on calm off or on leash walks (with no pulling or running off).”

Working breed puppy
Bourbon the Belgian Malinois: a high-drive puppy who was dragging his family
At six months old Bourbon was dragging handlers on the leash, pushing through doorways and jumping on children. A two-week board & train with trainer Luke gave him place work, posturing and heeling both on and off leash, plus a communication system for the whole family.

“Before training, we had issues with Bourbon dragging humans on his leash, pushing through doorways, jumping on kids, and just generally living his best puppy life — with or without permission. Bourbon now practices good manners, listens intently, and my family has the groundwork to communicate effectively with our pup. Bourbon follows commands like posturing, place work, heeling, and can do all while on or off leash.”

Puppy foundation
Pippin: from one shaky “sit” to four reliable commands in two weeks
Pippin, a six-month-old mini Goldendoodle, was nervous in the car and knew only an inconsistent “sit”. After a two-week board & train with Luke he performed sit, place, recall and heel every time, and rode thirty minutes home with zero nerves.

“He was a little skittish during car rides, and the only command he knew was 'sit,' though not consistently. Upon pick up, he could sit, place, come when called, and heel every time, and the car ride home was a breeze! Zero nerves during the thirty-minute ride. … This little boy is doing great, and as we continue his training at home, I'm confident he is starting with a firm foundation.”

After 2 weeks with Luke, Bear is much calmer, doesn't jump on people and behaves well on a leash. He's very attentive to commands. Very important part to us as his parents (owners) was being trained on how to reinforce the training and good behaviors he's learned.”

Dog-to-dog aggression
A rescue who was lunging and snapping at the family’s other dogs

Questions About These Results
Are these dog training reviews real?
Yes. Every quote on this page is taken verbatim from a public Google review of Off Leash K9 Training Clarksville at 2850 Woodlawn Rd, Woodlawn, TN 37191. Names and dates appear exactly as the reviewer published them. Nothing has been edited, shortened for meaning, or paraphrased. You can read all 186 reviews on our Google Business Profile.
How long does dog training take in Clarksville TN?
It depends on the problem. In the cases above, puppy foundation and general manners were resolved in a 1-to-2-week board & train. Aggression and serious reactivity took 3 weeks. Koda, who was reactive to both strangers and other dogs, needed the full 3-week program. See our pricing page for every program length and cost.
Can an aggressive dog actually be rehabilitated?
The cases above include two dogs with aggression. Koda was aggressive toward both strangers and other dogs and completed his handover inside a crowded store with no incident. A rescue who was lunging and snapping at the family's other dogs now settles calmly outside with them. Results depend on the individual dog, and we assess every aggression case before accepting it. See aggressive dog training.
Do I have to keep training the dog after board and train?
Yes, and every owner above was trained to do it. This is the single most repeated theme across our reviews. As one owner put it: “Off Leash trains your dog but then gives you the tools to continue training (you have to continue training, or your dog will go back to their old ways).” Every program includes a turnover session teaching you to maintain the work.
Do you train rescue dogs with existing behaviour problems?
Yes. Three of the ten cases above are rescues, including Leo, whose crate distress and anxiety had produced multiple noise complaints from neighbours, and a rescue with dog-to-dog aggression in a multi-dog home. Rescues frequently arrive with anxiety, crate aversion or reactivity, and confidence work is a standard part of the program.
